Ahhhhhnother great night of sleep as it is super quiet outside at the Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground (site #811) here in Banff! After 3 days out in the boonies, it was about time to catch up on our photos and posts … and this morning that’s exactly what we did. Type up the blog, pick out and caption the photos and then off to find an internet cafe to get wifi access and upload it all! By early afternoon, … Read More

Day 10: Jetting from Jasper to Beautiful Banff

You might think we’ve had enough scenery for a while, but no! Now that we’re in the National Park, we’re officially on scenic routes! After breakfast and a grocery & souvenir shopping stop in Jasper, we are heading south now, along Hwy 93 towards Banff. There are several must-stop places outlined on our map, but the sights in between are not to be missed either! The viewpoint for Mt. Edith Cavell and Mt. More windy roads are ahead of us as we make our way to Cache Creek and towards Kamloops. No stopping here at the historic Court House this time, but change of driver! It’s been (more than) a week already and I … Read More

Over the kilometers of today’s drive, we’ve certainly lost track of elevation gains, drops, gains, drops, gains … you get the picture! Following the “Sea to Sky” highway # 99 is one of the most (ever changing) scenic drives there is, and you literally start at sea level in Vancouver, drive along Horseshoe Bay and make your way up into the mountains through well known towns like Whistler, where we stopped to visit the Olympic Park (2010 Winter Olympics – … Read More

We’ve been in the middle of nowhere the past two days and are dry camping for the second night. Shower sounding good right now but none in sight. Time for dinner in town and we’ll post photos soon…

Day 7: Two nights in Vancouver

posted in: Canada 2011 0

2 nights and 1 day is what we’ve got for Vancouver, but having had everything set up yesterday already left today for a full day of city sightseeing! After a slow start into the day we’re heading to the bus stop, just a few minutes walking distance away from the campground and jump right on board. Over the Lions Gate Bridge and thru Stanley Park, we’re being taken right downtown. A couple of blocks from Canada place we get off, … Read More
