A Walk For A Cure

posted in: Avon Walk 1

Only You can motivate Yourself, but Others can inspire You! Well, I have been inspired to do something good this year – for myself and the community: I will participate in the 2010 Avon Walk For Breast Cancer in San Francisco, CA on the July 10+11 weekend! To get myself in better shape (walking 39 miles in 2 days needs some preparation) and to raise funds to fight cancer ($1,800 minimum goal)! More to follow in upcoming posts … but … Read More

Suite and the City

A night on the town gets a really nice touch when your stay is as memorable one as this one! Planning to spend an evening in the city, dinner with Adam (Kirk’s brother), followed by a trip to the California Academy of Sciences the next day, Kirk and I picked the San Francisco Marquis Marriott to be the hotel of our choice. Associate rate comes in handy at a hotel like this. And when you “know someone”, your $79 room … Read More

Am Freitag auf’d Nacht, montier i die Schi … auf mei Auto, und dann begib i mi … nach Heavenly, am Lake Tahoe … lalalalala!  (For all you non-Austrians: this is a great Austrian song about going skiing over the weekend (in Austria, not Lake Tahoe of course), and my motto (and melody stuck in my head) whenever I’m heading out east towards the Sierra! Right, it is THAT season again! The one where some people freak out, check their car’s all wheel … Read More

Giving your skis the boot …

posted in: Weekend Travel 0

If the shoe doesn’t fit, it doesn’t fit. And no matter how good of a deal it was, or how nicely the colors of the boots match the ones of the skis – it’s not going to be fun on the run. What run? What boot? Well, let’s just say we were completely outfitted & ready for our very first skiing weekend together – at Heavenly at Lake Tahoe – when Kirk realized that the ski boot that had fit perfectly at the shop did … Read More

Memories …

As Kirk and I were planning the details of our Australia trip (which really were not as many details as you’d think if you know me and have travelled … Read More

Australia 2009 Photo Gallery: Day 16

posted in: Australia 2009 1

Today is not over… It’s a long one.  We traveled back in time and arrived in SFO before we left SYD.  So today will be 19 hours longer than a normal day for us.  But one thing is for sure. We’re home and we’re done with our trip.  When we saw the rain during our decent, we knew our summer was over. With that being the case, this is our last batch of pictures.  See them after the break.

Do you have nothing better to do but track our flight back home? I knew it. Great! Just go to either of these links. We’re on Qantas Flight 73. http://flightwise.com/track/QFA73 http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA73 http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightTracker/flightTracker.do?id=178288817 Or for the fancy Google Earth 3D way, download this KML courtesy of flightwise.com. Last Day …

posted in: Australia 2009 1

Can it really be that today, Day 16 of our trip, is already our last day? The one when we are leaving Sydney, and Australia? I guess it is so. After city sightseeing, mountain hiking, Outback driving, coast exploring, animal feeding, reef snorkeling and shark diving, rain forest sky-railing and finally gift shopping, we have seen & done it all. At least all that we had planned for. So today, we have 3 more things on the list: eat breakfast, … Read More
