It’s is just after 8:00 AM when we leave Newport News after having said goodbye to Gary & his family.
We head north-west along I-64 and then onto I-95 North towards Washington.
The first destination is Bethesda, MD: Marriott International Global Headquarters. We are meeting my former colleague James for lunch, and after a quick tour of the completely re-styled “lobby” we go to “the hub” – the cafeteria. It’s fun to catch up and also get a little scoop on the business at HQ …
But soon enough it’s time to get back on the road and we make sure to take a little detour first, dipping from Maryland into Washington, DC – to allow us to add that sticker onto our trailer as well.
Then we’re once more on I-95 North, heading past Baltimore towards the Delaware border. Barely after entering into the state we are already crossing back out – and reach our last state for the day: New Jersey. Just outside of Philadelphia, PA we settle in at the Timberlane Campground in Clarksboro, NJ. Kirk finally had time to fix the grill on the truck.
