Familien Reise Bericht – brought to you by TourGuide Andi
On the way to Wudi-Camp (Saturday, March 27, 2010: Gablitz – Wolfratshausen – Götzis)
Nearly 700km by car via Salzburg direction Munich, left motorway at Hofoldinger Forst for Wolfratshausen. Showed Heide the place where I work, sleep, and a bit of Wolfratshausen, before we continued via Starnberg to Götzis. Lost 1 hour in a traffic jam at Pfändertunnel.
Murder ääh Marder in the car! (Sunday, March 28, 2010: Götzis – Zurich – Los Angeles)
Started with our car, realized problems with ignition, returned to Tina’s place to change cars. Second try with Charly’s car, no problems to Zurich airport. Flight basically on time, 12 hours to LA!!
LA: waiting at immigration, waiting for shuttle, shuttle bus took two rounds at airport hoping to get additional people for downtown.
Marriott L.A.LIVE very nice, spacy room, went for dinner at 04:00 in the morning (our time).
See your barber! (Monday, March 29, 2010: Los Angeles)
Slept quite well (only a few breaks) until 04:00 in the morning (local time), got up for breakfast (coffee in the room, breakfast in hotel at 06:30).
Walked downtown LA, visited Bolt Barbers at 460 South Spring Street (www.boltbarbers.com) and met my former COTY-colleague “Mohawk” Matt Berman there. He didn’t recognize me, but looked sceptical, when I asked for discounts for seniors. Offered me 20%; I asked for discounts for Europeans. When I requested additional ones for people he had met in Amsterdam and Paris, it clicked and we had a good laugh.
Strolled through El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Park, Chinatown, visited Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Wells Fargo Museum and missed Grand Central Market because I mixed it up with Market Centre.
Back to the hotel at about 5:00, Heide fell immediately asleep. I met Matt for dinner and we talked about the old times at Coty.
And here’s your Photo Gallery from A Day in L.A. … Enjoy!
