We land after 17 hrs and 8 minutes of pretty comfy (for economy class) flight, as the 2 of use had the row of 3 for just us. Immigration takes just a few minutes, but as we get to baggage claim, bad news awaits. Our luggage – as well as the bags of 50 or so other passengers on our flight – never made it onto the plane … it’s still sitting in SFO! Bummer … Just a lame “sorry” and “we’ll let you know by 1pm tomorrow what time it will get to your hotel” …
We grab a SIM card to have phone and internet access, before catching the MRT (metro) to downtown Singapore. Well, at least that part is easy. And the train is nicely air-conditioned, fighting the hot and humid air outside. We walk the last mile from the station to the hotel, and check into the Four Points by Sheraton Riverview, a little tired, and definitely annoyed. A couple of margaritas at the hotel bar do help however.
