Australia 2009 Photo Gallery: Day 5
Most of day 5 was driving. No, all of it was. Most of it was the country side. Here’s all the pictures we took during our 8.5 hour long journey to Surfers Paradise.

We’re at McDonalds and able to post our photos from yesterday. Andrea’s driving today, so this should be interesting. Haha. It’ll be a long drive today. See you guys in Surfer’s Paradise! Enjoy!
Read Kirk’s post for the english version of Day 4 … here’s an update in German for my folks! Read More
Yesterday, day 4, started with a hike to Wall Cave which is still up in the Blue Mountains area. It was an hour hike roundtrip. Lots of steps again. Andrea counted 602 each way. It was quite pretty and the light rain added a mystical element to the hike. The closer we got to the bottom, the narrower the path got. We were having to push our way through the wet green brush. Just before we reached the caves, there … Read More
Thanks Macca’s! That’s what they call Mickey D’s here.
Oh boy. The internet connection sucks bad in this place. We’re staying at the Comfort Inn Hallmark in Tamworth, NSW. So no photo uploads tonight. Actually it’s so bad, this is all I’m able to post. Haha. Our location is updated on the map, and we have reservations for the Surfers Paradise Marriott for tomorrow night. We’ll be able to post more there. Till then… enjoy. Kirk & Andrea
Don’t get your hopes up just yet … I have no proof as in video, but I have seen it with my own eyes! The toilets flush CLOCKWISE in Australia!!! (Reminder: our experiment sample toilet flushed counter clockwise in California.) Where: Echo Point (Three Sisters Overlook) in the Blue Mountains National Park, Women’s Toilet outside the Visitor Information When: last night, approx. 6pm The place was just not presentable … no way we would post that loo for the world … Read More
Boy, what a day. Walking. Walking. Did I mention more walking? Oh and there were these stairs… LOTS of stairs. Andrea and I are zonked for the day. But before I plop my head on my pillow, I wanted to get today’s photo gallery uploaded. Here it is!
Day 3 and we are in the heart of the Blue Mountains, one of the main “attractions” of New South Wales. Just a stone throw outside of Sydney, this beautiful mountain/valley/canyon/ridge formation area is worth a trip! After picking up our rental car this morning in Kings Cross, we headed out west, past Parramatta, right into the Blue Mountains National Park. After a stroll along the Wentworth Falls Lookout area, including a short hike to the Princess Rock Overlook, we … Read More
Food gets my brain going. That’s why we’re having breakfast while updating our posts. But sometimes, too much food just makes my brain stop. Like last night … That Kangaroo just jumped off my mixed grill plate and knocked me out! (I swear, that’s what must have happened, because after dinner I was out in no time. Or maybe it was the combo of too much sightseeing, too much walking, too much sun and THEN too much food?) Anyways … … Read More
